Executive Steering Committee

The Executive Steering Committee has the responsibility to ensure the highest-impact sustainability projects are prioritized and funded. They will provide guidance to the Sustainability Council on university priority and will advocate for high-impact sustainability projects with the senior executive staff at Mason.

Who:
  • Senior representatives from schools, colleges, and departments, including Provost's office
Type of position:
  • These are permanent positions, requiring a replacement with a representative if the Committee member is not available
Responsibilities:
  • Set goals and priorities for university sustainability
  • Make recommendations to the budget group about how the university budget should support these goals and priorities
  • Review progress against established goals and priorities
Frequency:
  • Meetings should occur every quarter or semester, depending on the need for prioritization of projects
