Earth Week 2013 will continue the Mason tradition of featuring exciting speakers, workshops, volunteer opportunities, film screenings, and more. Programming is part of a month long celebration of Mason’s commitment to sustainability, but includes two dedicated weeks of unique programming.

An Evening with Phil Radford, Executive Director of Greenpeace USA

Mr. Radford will give an overview of the history and mission of Greenpeace, and will discuss Greenpeace’s position among its peer environmental groups in the USA. He will also speak to current Greenpeace initiatives, as well as his background and what it’s like to run a high profile national environmental non-profit.

The fair will feature eco-friendly exhibits showcasing ways to live a more green lifestyle, including energy conservation, sustainable food and eco-friendly transportation and more!

Earth Day Celebration at Prince William Campus

The Earth Day Celebration of 2013 at Prince William is a program to encourage the students, faculty, and staff to come together and take care of the community garden at the Prince William Campus and upkeep the surrounding campus environment. This is a collaborative event where University Life is looking to educate students, faculty, and staff about the community garden and encourage them to participate in the caring, nurturing, and harvesting of flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables on the Prince William Campus. The goal of Earth Day is to excite students, faculty, and staff about the green initiatives and educate them about ways to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle and get involved in their community.
Terra Secundum Environmental Engagement through Visual and Performing Arts at Fairfax Campus

Come join us for a tour of a working farm and a hike. This farm does not use antibiotics, additives, or pesticides on its animals. In addition, no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used on its pastures. The farm has healthful meat from humanly raised animals. For more information, check out the farm's website.
