The Better Bins Preview (BBP) is an initiative assessing the impact of the 'Zero Waste Mason Guidelines' and 'Zero Waste Mason Standards.' It was first launched during the 2024-2025 academic year.
BBP works with 'host' locations to install standardized Zero Waste Mason (ZWM) waste stations coupled with ZWM bilingual labels. The impact of the new waste stations and labels are assessed through community feedback, waste audits, and more!
This initiative supports the Zero Waste Mason Program, advances Facilities and Campus Operations’ ongoing zero waste work, and accelerates progress towards the university's Zero Waste Mason goal of 90%+ waste diversion.
