October 12 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Location: Johnson Center, Fairfax Campus
Volunteer with representatives from Mason Facilities and University Sustainability to audit ongoing single-use plastics eliminations efforts in collaboration with Mason Dining on October 12 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.. Mason has eliminated over 50% of single-use plastics & polystyrene from its operations including bottles, bags, & foodservices ware. Single-use plastics were replaced with better, more sustainable alternatives like reusables, industrially compostable items, and highly recyclable items. Register for free with the University Sustainability Volunteer Portal: Volunteers will support Zero Waste Mason, a goal to divert 90%+ of the university’s waste away from the trash through reductions, repurposing, composting, and recycling.
